This renowned author and once speech writer for President Johnson has gone on several Holy Land tours with Jerry Falwell and attended the first Christian-Zionist Congress in Basel, Switzerland. She traces, beginning in 1967, the beginning of the powerful alliance between Israel and the TV evangelists, who preach that only a nuclear war will bring Jesus Christ back to earth. As early as 1971 President Reagan indicated his apparent acceptance of a biblical interpretation of prophecy, one that is strongly held by Christian Zionists and Dispensationalists, alike.
